Like i got this router, and wanna run a 24/7 server from my laptop, but this damn router has a firewall, its a DLINK DI-704P , and i know it has something to do with DMZ, something called dmz that if disabled, itslike open network, but how do i take it off?
OR IF you can HELP me, i got a DSL, and gotta connect each time i open my computer ( to get my IP ) and well ive heard of PPPoE and having a router, but dont know how ! HELP!

I had a lot of similar problema a while ago. I did get it sorted out.

There's a lot of info, but if you go to the weblinks at the end, you can get
to some useful stuff. How to set winxp sp2 so that Halo can play throught
the windows firewall.... Direct links to DLink routers manuals and articles
explining how to port forward through your router.
Like I said its a lot of info. But it might have what you need to know.
EDIT* try to avoid using DMZ option, it puts your computer "outside the
firewall" and exposes it to the internet unprotected.
