[Halo 2]Im doing something wrong...nothing works

I've been modding halo 1 for a few moths now.....and finally, just after i did the auto update (to 1.1) i started modding Halo 2...
now the problem...I change the jump height (cause its simple and easy to see if it works) in Headlong, save, and move the cache file back to X drive...load up Headlong and poof nothing has changed.
I've tried DotHalo and ADI and no difference
i have had no problem with Halo 1 and I think this might have something to do with the auto update.......
am i doing something wrong?
is any1 have the same prob?
