I DON"T WANT TO PLAY IN SAFE MODE ANYMORE!

Post by xXGhostXx »

PLEASE, if anyone can help me, reply A.S.A.P.!

OK, here's the problem:
-----------------------------------------------------
The PC that i use to play Halo is practically new (it's a Sony VAIO), and has Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002, an Intel Pentium 4 Processor CPU 3.20 GHz 3.19 GHz, and 512MB of RAM. It USED to be able to play Halo perfectly since last year, but now it restarts the computer during i'm playing or when i'm try to switch profiles or when i quit (usually when i play or quit). Right before it restarts (even when i play in SAFEMODE! I MEAN C"MON! THIS HAS GONE TO FAR!), a blue screen flashes on the monitor with words that i can't read cuz it restarts rite after. I havn't done anything to Halo and it just suddenly started to do that everytime i played! If this is Microsofts fault, screw them and Bill Gates (he owns Microsoft right?). When i reported the problem, they said i should try to update the comp or download and update for the video card (they said the video card was the source of the problem), and when i updated the PC, THE PROBLEM STILL HAPPENED -_-! I"M REALLY GETTING PISSED, but if someone solves this problem, i'll be on my knees thanking them hundreds of times.

Ok, to the looks of it. You have a good computer, the speed is high enough. All right, one thing to remember is the type of video card you have, tell me it and i will look in a list for it. It deals with the game flashing and it restarts. Because the type of video card you have. Just reply to this with the type of video card you have. To get that information, go to control panel, then display, then settings, and under the window where it shows your screen, it will tell the video card. I will gladly look for it in the Halo List.

His avatar shouldnt be that big, and you can put them on now, but with people like him they will get taken away soon enough.

It is most probably a windows XP update you have, they do skrew up your computer, so in safe mode if you un-install every update you have for windows in remove software in control pannel, then try to run win xp normally it may work, or else you can do a system restore which if you have it set to enough memory you can go back quite far with it, then just go back to when it worked.

If none of that works, at most extreme, get your power supply checked, its possible that it has lost some of its wattage and just turns off.

Yet another possibility is that you have to many P&P's on your computer, in which case you would need to format, but this is highly unlikely being you havnt changed any motherbaord in it and its a laptop..

For what i believe it is your VIDEO CARD. Your computer flashes, and when you try playing it alot, it shuts off. Correct? You need to go get a new video card, for your computer, such as NVDIA Geforce, or any others.

Thanks for replying, and my video card is a RADEON 9200. When I reported the problem, they said that the crash was caused by an ATI or something Graphics Card, but they said there wasn't a direct solution. Thanks again. I really appreciate that both of you (GoldMasterChief and sonictag) tried to help me. :D
