Ok, well I film with fraps and try to view my clips......Then there's those d**n pauses and skips and the file size is frigggggin 300 mb. I heard there's this encoder thing that compresses the file size or something but I dunno where I would find one or how to use one....Just trying to make a movie. Any help is appreciated.

Well if it is lagging there could be several problems.
1) You recorded your footage in really high quality.
- At this point, you cant do much, except re-flim it at a lower quality.
- Compressing programs wont do any good, only in the scenario if you were trying to get the file to the audience over internet and it would take too much bandwith.
2) You have a whole bunch of other stuff going on, making your computer slow, therefore causing the movie to run laggy.
-If you try this movie on another clean, fast computer, and its laggy, its probably #1.
Hope that helps.
Also, 300mb is quite small (if you are talking about raw footage)
There are many compressors out there, from the top of my mind, i suggest WinRAR, which is like zip, but do a google search, and try some out.

Ok, well I found out that I was using too much quality...Well, now that I've gotten the quality managed, I still have like 200-300 mb in 30 seconds wtf? I mean, the average vid usually has 40 mb and lower....
