I want grass!

Hi,
I can see on some screenshots that people's grass is much nicer than mine.
Mine is just a dark green thing. Where can I get those textures and how to install?
Also, about the mods. Is there any mods that can be used for cheating on multiplayer? Because, I don't know if its just me but some people on multiplayer can kill you with pistols in like 2 shots when he's far away (saw this once or twice) and I've seen some shees that cant be shot down too (2, 3, 4, rockets and thei're still up).
Is it possible or I'm a freak?

another question..
I downloaded some AI maps like project AI, covenant gulch, etc. I can see myself, weapons and map modifications, but cant see the other guys that should be atacking me?

about the grass, it might be your graphics card or download some grass skins, about the cheating the pistol thing is possible and shees lag alot so you might not actually be hitting them, and the AI thing, you might have to go find them. And if it was my covenant gulch, there are no AI's in mine

hm thanks, but on another AI map there were no actual AI's, but they said something about a plugin.
Where can I find some grass skins? My video card is a geforece 4, I don't think thats the problem.

here it is, the new world thing, I applied it to bitmaps.bmp, and things are different, but take a look:
the grass still sucks. any idea?
I have a geforce 4 mx, 64mb, isn't that supposed to take care of the grass?
just so that you know, the particles, textures, etc, everything is on and on high level, on 1204 resolution, 60 frame rate.
there are 2 options on the video configurations I can't change, is shadow and the other one upside it. does that anything to do with this?

oh, hehe, just another question, about halo ce.
Its pretty cool, play zanzibar and stuff, but all I see is like 60 server, 50 with traditional maps and the custom maps are almost empty/locked/1-2 people.
is it me or none really plays it?

I think its because of AGP is disabled on direct x, and cant be turned on, but I mailed microsoft already.

oh, by the way, I'd like to give a try on those pistols mods, do you know where I can get it? I know its cheating, I just want to check it out.

About the grass, try the second link, thats what I use. Its very nice.

For CE, not many people play it because...well...I don't really know why they don't play it...

It's 100% your graphics card. Do a google up on "Pixel Shaders" and you'll see why. Your card doesn't support them. THIS is how Halo is supposed to look with a nice graphics card (ATI Radeon 9600xt)

hm thanks, but I think that enabling agp texture acceleration it might work, my video card has agp 8x, but its not enabled.
Its a geforce 4 mx, 64mb, I can't believe that bungie would create a game that needs a high perfomance video card for such a simple thing

you have the same gfxcard as me and its not a pixel shader card thats why you cant turn specular and shadows on, and agp tex. acceleration wont help, itll help wit the framerate but not the grass or shadows or specular. (if you want good gfx get a ATI Radeon 9600, its $100 heres a link to one

Inc...it's not a simple thing. Halo, even for xbox, had advanced mutli-shader properties, bump-maps, cubemaps, real-time reflections, and more.
There is no game in the entire world that can show true dot3 bump maps with a GeForce 4 Mx. Almost every single game these days runs like bull on an Mx.
It comes intergated into a lot of PC's, but the people who buy them are tricked into it. I was, but I got the Radeon 9600xt afterwards.

Wow,
I really tought that geforce 4 mx was a great video card, but now I'm confuse.
But thats ok, its not that bad, and I'm getting an Xbox so I wont have this problem. Thank you!
