HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

When I popped the Halo 2 disk in the drive, I saw that it was DVD stuff.
No game files...... None of my Halo 2 kits read them.
I don't have modded Xboxes, I do want to know how to mod with no mod chip.

Why do they read as DVD files? How can I fix this?

You have to have a modded xbox to get the map files from the disc. The way that you mod your xbox is up to you. You can either get a mod-chip, or soft-mod your box. Look here for more info about modding your xbox. The reason a regular DVD drive doesn't recognize the game disc is because of the encryption on the disc. Only Xbox's can read the game disc.
