HEK: Trial & Error(Argh)

Now that I'm over the hump I'm going to start over on my Ramp\Base idea. I really need to find a tutorial on how to make the "ground_bitmap" in PhotoShop because my trial on Paint Shop Pro will eventually run out. The whole "mask\layer" thing throws me off.

Anyone with advice on how to make the "bitmap\tiff" "layer\mask" file without PSP please let me know.
