good, sirs, how does one take the lighting out of a map? i need knoweth for i am creating a map that shall take place in the dark. one cannot simply make the lighting go away with hmt i believe! i have heard that one uses the rastizer\atmospheric fog density tag to change that, but i have no idea as to what to do with it. if thou woulnd't mind, could thou please edit the bitmap to take the light out or instruct me how to do it?
omg it's so tiring to talk like that. just please tell me how!!

for good rsults use the fog from the maw: open up the maw in HMT
then go to the sky tag copie the numbers then use those in BG or wut ever map ur trying to darkin. And play around untill you get a decent looking

Ok, here's what you need to do to get rid of the lighting without using thick fog. Find a skin that isn't used in the level, (use the gravity rifle skin, it's the right size and not used), open it, and make it complealty a very dark shade of grey. The darker the grey, the darker the level will be, but if you make it black there will be no light whatsoever (you will have a black screen). Then inject it back over the unused skin, and see where it says offset? Copy that number. then scroll up to bitmaps>levels>test>blood gulch>blood gulch. That's the lightmap. Click on it, and where it says offset paste the number you copied and click on update.
Enjoy.
