Ok I followed the HMT 3.5 tut WORD BY WORD on converting AOTCR to multiplayer and when i open it in sparkedit the whole map texture looks like a plama rifle.

When I try to start a game in Halo I get Mr Gathering Exception Data

Uhhh... just change the texture of the map to AotCR's.
