Wraith mortar on different weapons through HMT

I know this sounds really noobish and lame but i can't change projectiles with HMT. Since i have a great love of the wraith Mortar i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to change weapons such as banshee plasma guns and fuel rod guns or the such to wraith mortars..thx

rebuild map with Wraith projectile
swap meta of fuel rod with that of wraith.
if that doesnt work, tell us exactly what happens

ok can i have that in pleb terms...my lameassed friend never explained HMT very well to me. Is it something to do with importing the meta or what?
