If you're both using the same CD, then atleast one of you has a nocd patch. That one computer can only connect to a 'private' server without getting that error. So both computers will have to connect to a private server. I can't tell you where to get a list of private servers, as that's most likely frowned upon in these forums (I've probably already broken rules now). Google it.

haha, thanks man, ill try that..i don't know what you mean by nocd patch though. what we do is start up the game on one pc, then take the disc out after its loaded and put it in the other...ill try your idea though, im just curious as to why they are frowned upon

what a n00b! *gasp* whoops I just did aswell, lol just kidding...

well you cant really play with the same cd key, microsoft policy, the only way would be to install it with another cd key, but then that one would not be able to play online...

that's kinda false, because I had an illegal copy of halo (I now have a fully legal copy of Halo before anyone starts) and I could play online, granted, the list of servers that was there was limited, but as I said, I went out and bought a legal copy of halo and now the list of servers has boomed ^_^

It's all about preventing software piracy...you can't play in any game where there is someone else using the same CD key as you. If someone in a game has you key or vice-versa the game won't show on teh list....but anyway as long as you get there first you don't have a problem..
..i think
