I'm sure it's not your ATi RADEON 9000. Scan your computer for viruses, spyware, and adware. I reccomend the following utilities. SpyBot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware SE, & TuneUp Utilities 2003 or 2004. I can send you a cd key for 2003 though.

For SpyBot, go to www.spy-bot.com
For Ad-Aware, go to www.lavasoft.de
For TuneUp Utilites, go to www.tuneuputilities.com

With SpyBot, use the scan, and immunize your pc.
With Ad-Aware, use the smart system scan and get rid of anything it finds, then do a full system scan.
With TuneUp Utilities, scan your pc for junk, and use the TuneUp Reg Cleaner, found under the second tab.
And use a virus scanner, pretty obvious on how to use that, however, if it does not delete the virus, go to the file folder it is located in, then delete it manually. If that does not work, try searching it on the web to solutions as to how to getrid of it.

Is your card AGP or PCI? Uninstall the drivers for your card, and then install them. DO NOT reinatall the drivers, it does nothing. Then update your drivers. Also, make sure that your card is snug in its AGP or PCI slot.

same problem!!!!! i did notice that if you wait when you first join a game for a few seconds then it doesnt happen as often... it seems like the card is overworked or something and restarts... it could over heat...

sony vaio pcv-rs 420
radeon 9200 64 mb...
512 mb ram
2.8GH P4 processor

i got:

2.8 ghz amd athlon
512 mb ram
128 mb ati radeon 9000

it may be an overheating issue....i ran speedfan on my pc, and it clocked it at 120* F....i think 112* F is the point of concern :?

for a long time my doom 3 game would just shut off in the middle of play, and forever i thought it was the video card or the system just being unable to take it on Ultra Quality mode (duhn duhn duhnnn) but it turned out it was just some glich with my cd drive, when i put it in the other drive it runs just fine, no shut downs...very odd

not sure if thats your problem but hey anything worth a shot right

i have the 9200 and had that same problem.. but i fixed it. i right clicked on desktop and went to the last tab, where you set resolution and color. i clicked "Advanced" and went to the direct 3d tab and set everything to defaults, then at bottom, i clicked 'compatability settings" and set everything to default. i did this also to open gl too just in case. when i was trying to increase my graphics, i fiddled with these and it started screweing up my halo gaphics, so i changed it a bit, but then it started restarting randomly during halo, so i set everything to default... try it and see if it works.

I know how to fix that problem. I have a radeon 9000 on my dad's computer, and it freezes up and restarts a lot when playing halo. All you have to do is make a shortcut to halo.exe and then in the target put -useff

It might be your PSU. Whats your PSU rated for and what kind do you have?

I don't think it would be the PSU, I mean, most pcs that have AGP slots, usually have the minimum or over the minimum psu's. I have a 250 watt psu and it powers everything great with my card. But, I could be wrong, depends on how much crap you add to your pc too.
