Okay, I would _really_ like to know what's wrong with my FTP

I'm getting 40 kb/s transfers between my Xbox and PC (both ways) through FTP.

I've asked this on numerous other boards/sites and haven't yet gotten help.

I get enough speed to play a game with one or two other Xboxs on XBC lag-free, can get 300 kb/s downloads from the internet to my PC, and from the internet my my PC via FTP.

I've tried 3 different FTP programs and none of them improved my speed, tried switching around the networking cables connecting this to that, didn't change anything.

I have a low dashboard version on my Xbox, and can't update it right now, so I'm stuck FTP'ing the Halo maps between my Xbox and PC to edit them. It takes roughtly 22 minutes for every transfer of a multiplayer map, and is a real hassle.

Can anyone give me a bit of help, or even point me somewhere else I can possibly get help for this at?

First, if you have a burner, use that to upgrade your dash. Second, do you have a crossover cable? If not, unless ur using a hub (which can be a hassle) get one. Thirdly, FlashFXP is very good FTP prog. But from what you have said it seems like something else. I won't give you the internet site where you can get a tut on FTP-ing (i don't think it is allowed in this forum) but a quick search in google should lead you to the major xbox modding sites which have plenty of 'em.

If you have already tried all of this, send me an email, and i will see what help i can get u. (I need more details about your set-up.)

I really hope this helps.

I was about to e-mail you, when I decided to transfer a few more DOA3 costumes, and noticed something out of the ordinary. Not only has my Xbox's IP changed, but now I'm getting transfer speeds of anywhere from 650-1000 kb/s. In other words, I can transfer multiplayer maps in about a minute, and campaign maps in about five minutes (those are 278mb).

Thanks anyway, though.
