Dell Laptop help

Post by UntoldLegendxx »

My Aunt has this laptop she uses for work and she brings it home to use, couple days ago she brought it home and realized the wireless card will not find any networks within range. She even put it next to the router. I think it has to do with a switch on the card because it won't send or recieve any data, but she said it has never been opened so i don't know. Anyone know why the laptop's wireless would stop working?

The laptops wireless card is : Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection.

i'm guessing it's connected to hey wifi before. if her network was previously unsecured, it may be possible she got wardrived, and they got into the router config, took it over, and changed the login credentials. or maybe the SSID is set to not broadcast, meaning you'll have to know the SSID to connect to the network.

basicaly, check out the stuff that changed between when she could connect and when she couldn't.

But if it can't even find it then i ouldn't be that... because even if it's taken over, you can still see it in the connection menu thingy.
