Run/Crouch Speed

Post by 134 »

I was wondering how I could change the run/crouch speed for the TDATA maps? Is this possible without modification to the shared maps? Whenever I try to edit Mtag-globals/globals ADI crashes.

Is it also possible to make this change take effect for everyone, including people who are not host and do not have the modded map? I want to make like a Matrix mod that my friends and I can play over System Link.

Well I am not one of those people, nor am I a person who enjoys being insulted for asking a reasonable question, so can you please give me some resolve by answering my post instead of spamming up my topic, as you may already know, spam adds up and becomes a flame war over time, I dont want that in my post. I am as calm as a dove, I just am getting a little agitated, but I will supress it.

Nobody insulted you, if anything, you said he didn't have the common sense to think before making that statement. We're fully aware there are reasons for this other than cheating. If people didn't cheat, we wouldn't need to ask. Drop it.

As for the question, the tag you need to edit is the matg, as that is where the runspeed value is. If ADI doesn't work, use something else. For the second question, no, you can't make runspeed affect people without the mod.

Actually.. If you make the crouch run speed high enough, at times they will just run fast, but its like a lagging moment where they will.. So i dont know if it will even work for you...

Why would you say TDATA Maps?

Also, don't double post, use the edit button.

Why would I say TDATA maps?... I kinda thought it was obvious, but Ill explain it to you, you see, when you want to edit the download content maps, or for that matter, any downloadable content, you have to download the files you want to edit from E:/TDATA/4d50064/$C/

You see, the Xbox is partitioned in such a way that all user content is placed into the E:/ partition of the harddrive, thus nulling the possibility of allowing the user to destroy, replace, or modify any of the Xboxes system files, which are safetly stored on the C:/ partition.

Microsoft takes it a step further, for orginization purposes, the E:/ partition has two main folders, UDATA and TDATA, UDATA is where all of the User Data is stored (Which is why it is called UDATA) The TDATA section is where all of the target data is stored (Which is why it is called TDATA)

Now all of the extra maps are in the TDATA section, however, the shared globals are stored in the Halo2 directory, which is usually in the D:/ drive, since most people use the original Halo 2 disc. The only problem with modifying the shared.map file, which contains the globals, is that the Xbox doesnt have a DVD writer, nor is Halo2 a DVD+/-RW

Which is why I asked and referred to these maps specifically as TDATA maps, since they are a tad more difficult to mod than the original maps.

Anyways, Entity crashes.[/b]

Values are never stored in a shared map, they are stored locally, and can be modified for each map. The primary shared tags are bitmaps, models, and sounds. Also, 90% of that explanation had nothing to do with his question.

Try a clean map.
