XBox 360 >> VCR >> TV

Post by Doctor »

Alirght, I have my wonderful XBox 360, which I play on my crappy old not good TV. We just got a new flat screen plasma :P TV and I want to play my XBox on that now.

I got my VCR hooked up to my TV, and I can play tapes fine (not that I use them anymore :oops: ), but now I want to hook my 360 up to my VCR to play it on my TV. I am using a Toshiba vcr. I am aware that there are no HD cables on my VCR, and I don't really care, I'm trying to do something special with my VCR. You can prolly give me directions for just using a regular XBox, I'm only using the normal red, white, and yellow cables.

*NOTE* I'm not that much into TV electronics and stuff, so I don't want any of that AVF/GHAI Cable 6.45312894185973189578278194768 L337 h4x!!!!111one111!!two!!111 stuffs please.

I don't think you can do that if you want the picture to display on the tv.

I used to do this. Hook your A/V cables into your input jacks on your VCR. Turn your VCR and TV and switch to VCR input. Then finally, you need to go through the different inputs on your VCR. Consult to your VCR manual if you can't figure it out.

I apologize if that didn't make any sense at all ^^;

Yea, I figured it out, thanks! The reason I was doing this was for the record button but it doesn't work :cry: Is there anyway to use my VCR to record Halo? I currently don't think it is a wise investment for a Capture Card, mb after my birthday when I get lots of money :)

a standard VCR works fine for recording games of halo. just play halo, put a tape in, and push record.

but if that doesn't work, and you want people to see your video without having to come over to your house and actually watch the VHS tape, then go with some sort of capture card. ATI all-in wonder mb?

I have a new thread based on non-capture card recording, I figured this out.
