Windows Firewall Problem

Well after shutting off a internet proxy called Steganos Internet Anonym 2006 my windows firewall just completly stopped working. and its not really that i care about it i just caused other programs to stop fuctioning such as my Msn Messenger and AIM. This is the error message i get windows firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not runnning. do you want to start the windows firewall/ internet connection sharing (ICS) service'
i then click yes.
i then get this error message 'windows cannot start the windows firewall/internet connection sharing service' anyone got any ideas?
