Small Adware prob

Post by Cuda »

Well, I recieved a File from My friend from school over MSN and when I opened it, Norton found a trojan in it, and couldnt remove it. (so basicly just told me about it :x ) so I ran Spybot S&D, and Lavasoft Ad-AwareSE. It found a bunch of registry files and Registry Keys and Cookies, but the Pop ups still come. So, I checked the Process list and no processes came up as a threat. Is it possible that an adClient can run, without a process, on the PC? and if so, where can the root of the file be found?

Dlete Norton get a better antivirus software like Bitdefender.Yes exe files can be hidden from the process tab(its so fucking easy even I can do it).If the File isn't registerd as a commonly know virus most of the virus software won't do you any good.A program like BitDefender should detect it.Don't forget to turn off system restore after it got dleted and create a new restore point and don't forget to do all that stuff I'm saying right now in SaveMode(you can have Internet enabled when you go to the option "SaveMode with Networking").
...left for good
