ALWAYS UNIVERSAL LAG

Post by Regulas021 »

Whenever I play on Halo PC, it always, immediatly begins to lag. i can walk for a half second before I start zipping around within, about a radius of 5 feet. It happens on Halo CE as well. Does anyone know what to do?

There's a few things that could be attributed to: Poor hardware, and excessive settings. Integrated graphics/ancient cards and slow CPU's will take a serious toll on enjoyment. Try turning down the settings and you can get much better performance.

Also, try closing out other programs. Back on my old computer, I would close out EVERYTHING (including the Explorer shell) and get a bit better performance. Doesn't matter anymore, though. I got a nice new motherboard, processor and video card. They aren't exactly top of the line, but they work excellently.

A 256mb Radeon 9600XT (which you can get for a mere 85 bucks on Newegg) runs the game at pretty much max settings without a hitch. Also, a 2.4ghz P4 you can get really cheap as well, and performs really well for the price. Unless you want to run something like Quake 4, you don't really need much more than that.
