Some trouble with HPC....

A friend of mine installed Halo (regular, not CE) on his laptop, and when he tries to run it, Halo runs set at 800x600 and not 1400x900, which is his regular resolution. Halo crashes with a message saying "Video Acceleration may not be enabled, run DXDIAG." He checked dxdiag, and nothing seems to be wrong. His theory is that since it went to 800x600, the video card couldn't handle the 800x600-ness. Is there any way to fix this?

Well, the easiest way to check is to set is desktop to 8x6 and see if it crashes (don't worry, there are safty devices that will restore the desktop to original if it does)
