.DDS skin problem for Halo PC

Ok, when I save my .dds warthog skin or anyother skin when I skinned it when you look at it in game from a far distance it looks like the original color, but when you get close it takes the color you put on the hog. And when you turn a certain way the hog takes its original color. Why is that?

Umm It Usually lags fer like a little when Your @ a certain angle
