Need help on installing mods!!!!!!

How do you install mods to halo pc? everytime i download them they are in RAR format and i donot have any programs to decode them. Even when i download the programs to open the from this site they are in this format. What should i do to open these files? it usually comes up the menu open with.. select program, but none work. These mods do work with halo pc regular version right i have read through forum but not found anything helpful please assist me.

go here download winrar and try again.
this wil let it open you.
press the file you want to decode and press extract to.
then navigat to your halo/maps folder and paste there.
