FTP Transfer Help

i can't get my ftp to work to my xbox(yes, it's modded) i set the settings right, and i typed in my password and everything. it says connected, then it says waiting for welcome message(CuteFTP), then after awhile it disconnects without allowing me to do anything. i tried other FTP programs(flashFXP and FireFTP) but they do the same thing. I didn't have a tv hooked up to my xbox at the time. is there something i have to press on the xbox first? i'm using MXM if you ask.

bump and will someone please answer my question. no matter what i do it won't work. even with the tv hooked up.
