3ds max 7 jms export error

Post by naznert »

Hey, whenever I attempt to export a "textured model linked to a frame" 3ds max 7 crashes and states something like "An error has occured, the program will now close, no changes have been made since your last save." This doesn't happen when I export as *.obj or *.3ds or other files types.

I'm currently running 3ds max 7 with the MAX6 blitzkreig jms exporter. This happens for any and all textures. When I export it without a texture, the link, or both it exports.

Any ideas?

This usually happens when there is an error in your geometry, or a little in your shader.

Have you used the boolean tool at all?

sorry I took so long to reply

No, not to my knowledge. What is the boolean tool? I'm rather new to 3ds max.

Hm...is your level very complicated? If it isn't, try re-creating it again. That way, it may look better (learned from mistakes thing), and should export properly.

It's not a level, it's a gun. As a matter of fact I tried to make just a gun in the shape of just an L with a plain white texture to see if it would work and it still doesn't.

not that this matters for exportation, but what are the dimension of the texture?
