HCE with a new video card.

Post by BEEF!!! »

Wow. Never thought i'd be posting in here. HCE never gives me problems. Well up to now that is.
Anyways. I just installed my new ATI Radeon 9600 XT. Halo works, UT2004 works, yet HCE wont work. This is the error i get:

I know this error has been seen before but I've done everything. Restarted my computer, went into dxdiag, and tryed disabling then enabling Direct3d.
Any ideas? :?

All I can think of right now is drivers.. but thats very strange if your other games work. Download the updated drivers anyway and see if it consists in giving you the error.

Yea, downloaded updated drivers for your video card, and then also ensure that you have the latest version of DirectX installed.

Hmmmm. I'll check and make sure I did that.
Thanks for the idea.

EDIT: I tried installing the new strings.dll but the same thing happens.
