Problem with resolution post-game

Post by Castershell »

Everytime I exit Halo...actually, any fps I play at the moment, my display settings are at 640x480! When I try to change it, it tells me "The display control panel is unable to change the display settings. You may not have the appropriate administrative rights to change these settings."

Now I know that's BS, as I'm the main user on this pc. I had the Omega drivers for my Radeon 9550 (256 MB AGP) and thought they may be the problem, so I went back to the Catalyst 4.11 (as 4.12 is said to have issues with PlanetSide: Aftershock) in the hopes that it might solve my problem. It didn't.

So now I have no idea what's causing it...The only way I can fix it is by rebooting, which gets really annoying when you have to do it after playing any fps. Can anyone help me?

That pretty much explains the error.

But the fact is (as I said) I DO have any and or all administrative rights! I'm thinking it may be a driver problem, but need actual feedback *ahem*

If you think it is a driver problem, then update your drivers and see if the problem continues.

that error u get must be really annoying :x but one thing: if there are other people that use ur comp, even if its only occasionally, that might have something to do with administrative rights, like, my dad is the admin of my comp(we both use it)yet he cant access my files, its a security thing i think :?
