Am i missing files in 3ds max?

I have 3ds max 6 and im just learning how to use it. im just doing little projects that i find on the web, but i think i may be missing files. In the matlibs folder i only have 2 files, well they arent even files. They are Aec templates and nature. Now i dont know much about the different file types yet, but in picture from tutorials i have found that folder is full of files that i am assuming come with the program. So i dont know if im missing files, or i have to download an update or something. I dont know if downloading it off of the interenet might have something to do with it.

If anyone can help me out, i would be very thankful.
