CANT INSTALL!!!!!

my cd used to work fine, and once i was playing and screwed something up with the folder in program files, so i uninstalled it. when i tried reinstalling it, it wouldnt install "ending.bik". i tried installing it on my external cd drive, it worked. then i screwed up my halo folders again, so i uninstalled it and reinstalled it. but now no matter what cd drive i use, it says "cannot install ending.bik". then it either says "retry" or "cancel", and my cd isnt that scratched up. it has virtually nothing on it. im stuck with the demo and im sick of beating it legendary for the 100th time... anyone else have this problem?

try doing a full uninstall before trying to reinstall it again...

Nope. Its obviously a disk read error though. You shouldn't have messed up your Halo folder twice. That was stupid and caused by a lack of backing things up.

try extracting .cab files and then uncompressing them and patch up ur stuff it always works for me...

but i tried just copying the ending.bik right to my folder but it says "couldnt do it" or whatever. hmmmm

anyway a no-cd hack *cough* (careful these words are sensitive)
is a crack that will allow you to play without your cd. It's legal of course if you own the original cd and key. If u dont *cough* *cough*.

what it is= an modified halo.exe file
what is moddified= so when you start up the game it dosent require a CD.

thats basically it...

Right, but if your CD can't be read and you can't install Halo, then you won't ever get to the point where you could use the no-cd crack.

well, technically, if i have the cd, but it doesnt work, would it be legal to borrow my friends, install my cd key, and put the no-cd hack in?

I dont see anything wrong with it... I mean you knows laws were meant to be broken, so phfft, who cares, borrow ur friends cd, make an iso image of it with Alcohol 120% and then u can get to the no-cd thingy...

c the only illegal thing that you can do is use their cd key, or make a copy of the cd and sell it... otherwise its clean....
