patches not working!

hey the first time i applied a patch, it worked perfectly. but then once i tried doing it again, i would get the original map, not the modded one. i don't know what i'm doing wrong. i'm using evox. i go to the ms dash, delete all the halo files, then play the map the patch is for, quit, turn xbox off then back on. ftp to my xbox. transfer cache003.map to pc, apply patch, transfer cache003.map back to pc (overwriting) and then play map. but it's still the same old one. i don't know why it's not working for me now. it worked before. i have tried a few patches and this has happened every time.

edit: never mind i realized that halo must be in the drive while ftping.
