[MAP] Greatwar: Hopeless Battle

I worked alot alot on this map, it took awhile because i wasn't too good on scriping so i kept learning. it had alot of bugs and well, i finished like a month ago and i didn't release for some reason, well here is this...map.

Upon entering the system of an unknown ice planet, the ship Annilator
finds a covenant fleet orbiting the ice planet.
They got detected after they exited slip space.
Now you and your partner, two surviving spartans awake
from the cryotubes and escape the ship in a pelican. Thus crashing
on the ice planet with some surviving marines, also the the
foreunners seem to have been there once, reasons unknown.
Your goal is to survive!

Map Bugs: The music at the bridge area restarts when you shoot the ai some.
The pelican has missing strings for the seats.
When the marines get in your warthog and you make them get out, The non party host
will see them still in the warthog. and when their dead they float in the seats.
To fix this you get the other players to get in hog before the ai's get in.
same goes with all vehicles.

Weapons:
Battle Rifle v2 - a version of the BR, has a 2x to 8x zoom and fires single accurate shots.

Assault Rifle - more accurate...and i think that it

Plasma Assault rifle - A modification of the AR that
has plasma ammo clips that fires plasma bolts, and has
a slower firerate than Assault rifle but much more accurate. oh and it has 740 max ammo
instead of 600.

Shotgun

Plasma Rifle

Sniper Rifle - More powerful, and has a 2x to 8x to 15x scope.

Vehicles: The warthog you start out with
The tank after the brige fight - increased accuracy
And the pelican you fly at end of level.

so what exactly is this map supposed to be?... what did you do to the BSP?

The cutscene movie wasnt bad... but... I'm just wondering what exactly it is that you are doing with this whole thing haha

why is it called hopless battle does the AI keep respawning? or do u play through the campaign level? explaination please

I got dat CMT UI(but not the whole SP cuss my PC takes 45 minutes to DL each) so do I just click on campaing and the map will be on the SP map list, or is it on the MP map list?

Make a new map thats just a huge AI battle with bombs dropping on the feild and destructive vehicles. Just keep the weather affects out cuss big blocks fall on my screen cuss I gotta play Halo on safe mode. I would post a Xfire screenshot so you can c how bad my graphix are, but I dont no how.

for some reason so do I but I have a 100 dollar graphics card. do you know how to turn safe mode off?

Oh and this map doesnt really make sense, is it a mission or jsut an AI battle? o.o;

by the looks of it, i'd say it's knaves
he open-sourced the br
the modifications i made to the br pwns, but that one looks nice too, grey scope....

No ders no way how to turn safe mode off unless you upgrade yo PC. Im gettin a new 2006 PC in September. Safe mode prevents Halo from crashing, so keep it on untill you upgrade ya PC. Im gonna make my mods when I get ma new PC, this PC cant use HEK and HMU and stuff like that, only SparkEdit.

did u play it as a ctf game type cause it only supports slayer and team slayer...and if u want what the story is about look at the readme.

for those of you that are asking what is this map so post to be than your stupid cause he just explained the whole damn story and stuff.Anyway I really like it alot after I finished the level I went back to play it again and this time I got the peli when I started and let the marines kick but cause after you kill all the marines they dont go with you they just stand there just to make them usefull.The only thing you should fix though are 3 things.Whenever I have a gunner in the pelican and I get out the gunner starts piloting the pelican and he's like on a rampage driving it and I cant even get him out!!.Plus too when I get to the second chasm and I die I respawn ontop or out of the level and I cant get out or shoot my weapon.Last but not least when I get to the part where I have to fight the hunters and the flood the hunters dont even shoot there fuel rods and there fuel rods cannons are just on the leg of the hunter and when he dies than the fuel rods explode (even though I do know that they do that when killed but by a grunt not a hunter).Other than that its a very fun map to play I enjoyed it :D :) 8) :wink: :!:

I agree. Very good map, I like how you got certain single player aspects function in this map, like music and subtitles. The only real problem I had was that I didn't get to play through the cutscene, it was so damn cool! I know it's a cutscene and you're not supposed to play it, but it was just pure awesomeness! Maybe that could be a prequel map to this, seeing as how the BSP was already there.
Also good job on the cutscene, I like how the ship breaks apart, really neat job with that. The Pelican in space was cool to, except you could've had an airlock door sealing off the cabin from the frozen vacuum of space, I'm sure you could have done that after everything else you did with the map. And btw, with the Pelican in space, when it whizzes past the screen, is that a custom flight sound, or was it just edited in?
Last, I like how you gave the Battle Rifle two different scope magnifications and the Sniper Rifle three. I'm glad someone finally measured those two off against the Pistol; the Pistol has a tiny scope with 2x magnification, then the Battle Rifle has a scope that is considerably larger but it only has a 2x maximum magnification, and then the Sniper Rifle has the largest scope, yet the magnifications are 2x and 8x! Thanks for changing that.

That br model looks amazingly accurate to it's original.
