I'de assume it is trying to open a file, do you have an admin account on your pc? If not, that may be the problem...Ombre wrote:Its the program, the intstaller works fine, but right when I start the program it gives me that error and closes. And no I don't have vb6.
NOTE:
Please open the race.uhmm map and replace the directories for the hog and LS to the directory of your UHMM, I'll make it relative to the UHMM as soon as I can (right now-ish)
To get to the TerrainBuilder (1 word, btw), wait until the terrain appears as completely flat. See the black box to the right and down from the 3d window? Click it.
Now, to keep the default terrain the way it is, click save and select a file in the UHMM directory. If you do not, ur screwed when it comes time to actually using it.
All of these 'problems' will be fixed within the next 5 updates (and since this is open source and yet I don't want people to edit the source, updates will be frequent)

Everything you'll ever need to know about me.
Need help with Linux, C#, C, Python, Java, PHP, Javascript, CSS, or VB? I'm available from 3:00PM-8:00PM EST on weekdays.

I'm going to be uploading a new version in a couple of minutes, as soon as I make it ask for a project to save to instead of just forcing you to start on Default.uhmm and screwing something up... *will compile list of updates too*
Done.
New Updates:
Added New Project Wizard
Fixed a few bugs with the Longsword
- Model was doubled
- Had no name in object list
Made objects relative to UHMM folder
Added e3d folder in UHMM directory
-Contains "vehicles", "bipeds", and "other"
-More organized textures
Done.

Hmm, well, as soon as I get this stupid skymap in place, it will actually make working maps (of course, you're still going to need sapien and guerilla, but that will soon be taken care of)
Left on the list:
3d Modeler (extrudes and such)
Tag Modifier (like guerrilla, need tons of help with this)
Tag placer (sapien, won't be too hard, it will pretty much be the same interface only instead of just being there the hogs, etc, will represent the locations and rotations of tags, the actual scenario editing will just use automated processes like "Guerrilla")
ANd of course, it will do tool automatically (thats some of the easiest coding ever... "shell [halo ce]\tool structure [map] [mapfile]"

I'm working on starting an invisionfree forum (though I would prefer to 1: have my own site and 2: have phpBB)
http://s12.invisionfree.com/UHMM/index.php
For some reason dot.tk won't accept that url, so don't expect a UHMM.tk until it does...

Just a note:
The Ultimate Halo Map Maker Support Forum will soon be moving to a phpNuke site @ gruntmaps.com.
Please keep in mind this may happen tomorrow, or next week depending on what happens.

?
It opens e3d files which are a really simple format that can be exported from 3ds max / gmax using the include exporter (it's a .ms file in the UHMM root folder)
This isn't for Halo PC, it's for Custom Edition...
