Post by tHa SnIpA »

This is for anyone who doesnt understand how to inject perfect models into maps.

The Tutorial:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Perfect Model Injection Tutorial
--------------------------------------------------------------
--How to inject a perfect energy sword model into bloodgulch--
--------------------------------------------------------------
[Open Bloodgulch.map in hmt3.5]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Batch Extract bloodgulch, check metadata, select YES on bsp extraction.
Go to Extract>BSP/MODEL sections and extract to any folder.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Open b40.map in hmt3.5]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Generate raw model offset list. Save to desktop or wherever you want.

3) Recursively Extract Energy Sword metadata.

4) Go to Extract raw models, Load saved raw model offset list

5) Find Energy Sword, and extract to same folder you extracted the metadata to.
(must be in same folder as the mod2.meta file)

6) Open Model De-Crapper, right click in window and select ADD, add the mod2.meta file.
You can find the 3 files (vertex area, index area, and bsp block) in the folder you extracted the BSP/MODEL files to, Now click the De-Crap button.

7) Now add the energy sword metadata folders/files to the bloodgulch folder you batchextracted to.

8 ) go to the folder you extracted the BSP/MODEL Sections to and copy the bloodgulch.sbsp.meta to the folder /levels/test/bloodgulch/ in the bloodgulch folder you batch extracted to.

9) Now time to rebuild, when you rebuild you have to add the energy sword.weap.meta AND the energy sword.mod2.meta

10) While rebuilding it will ask if any new vertices have been added to the bsp chunk, click YES! then it will ask you to browse for the file, go to folder you extracted the BSP/MODEL sections to and select bloodgulch.vertices.new then click open!

11) While rebuilding it will ask if any new indices have been added to the bsp chunk, click YES! then it will ask you to browse for the file, go to folder you extracted the BSP/MODEL sections to and select bloodgulch.indices.new then click open!

12) it will ask if you wish to use the modified start offset, click yes!

Thats it!! All Done!!
Enjoy!
