I think i need to weld my vertices but when i go to weld it here is the screen

http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u65/ ... lder-1.jpg
where do i weld my model?
Two problems.
1) That's not a render
2) You should be looking at the right-hand side panel in Max, not the menu bar.

what do you mean thats not a render? Its what i have so far, and on the right side of max on weld, the menu is not clickable.....

You're probably not in vertex mode.

Just click the Vertex button on the Modify tab of the right panel.

on the right, click vertex instead of face.

Is it possible to weld even tho i pretty much have my model rendered? When i click weld i get a "no vertices within mesh threshhold" even tho it says i have 1000 selected...............

do you have it at 1000 or .001?

I have it at .001 but under selection it says 1826 selected, am i selectin the vertices right?

You have vertex number 1826 selected, not 1826 different vertices.

yeah you gotta make sure you select them all. just drag the mouse over the entire mesh to select all the vertices.

Or click "ctrl + a" to ensure you got them all.

ok i traced these lines clear back to my rubber. It cant be metal_dirty i think it has to be how im doin my masterchief_alpha, am i right? I have tried a few times exporting the alpha and it looks like the one in the tut

why are you using the alpha for the diffuse?

Posted: Tue Apr 10, 2007 6:09 pm
by birdman
cuz in the composit there are 3 maps, the first slot it says to put the masterchief texture, which is the alpha isnt it?
