HMT: How to add a Sentinel Beam to your weapon

Post by Kebek »

This tutorial will tell you how to add a sentinel beam to your weapon.

1. Ok, first create a folder on your desktop and call it BG Sentinel and inside that folder make two folders, one named "Batch Extract", and the other "Sentinel Beam".
2. Now open bloodgulch.map in HMT (map is located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS
3. Next click on "Tools" on the top and highlight "Extract" and hit "Batch Extract".
4. Browse to your Batch Extract folder in BG Sentinel and make sure you have checked the box that says "Extract Metadata", click yes when a pop up shows up and says "Extract BSP?"
5. Open up c20 or "Library" and scroll down and double click the Projectiles tag.
6. Click on "characters/sentinel/beam" and check the "Recursive" box and click "Save Meta".
7. Save it in the "Sentinel Beam" Folder.
8. Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS
and copy bloodgulch.map into your batch extract folder.
9. Go into your "Sentinel Beam" folder, highlight everything and paste it in your batch extract folder.
10. Now go back to HMT and go to Tools and hit "Rebuild Map".
11. Browse to your batch extract folder and open the bloodgulch map you copied in there. Hit yes when it asks you to automatically fill the things out.
12. On the bottom hit "Add" and browse to C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\BG Sentinel\characters\sentinel and open everything including bitmaps, shaders etc.
13. Hit "Rebuild Map" on the top and wait...
14. 2 questions will pop up and say no to both of them.
15. When done rebuilding, rename your bloodgulch.map.rebuild.map to bloodgulch.map. Copy and paste it in your C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS folder.
16. Open up your new map and scroll down to your Projectiles tag and swap your sentinel beam with anything.

I hope this tutorial was helpful. Have fun with your new beam :)
