Mod Troubleshooting

ok im not too sure on if this is the right place, but im going to write a quick troubleshooting guide all in one on softmodding/and halo modding....

I keep getting an error message trying to load linux!
This can be one of two things. Probably the main thing is, the memory card. When i first tried softmodding, i used the action replay memory card, and i tried downloading different linux files from different sites and tried all the games! i kept getting the error message saying my xbox needs service. It didn't. Apparently, some of the AR memory cards screw up the linux file upon saving it to the hard drive. So dont get frustrated. your best bet is to buy a new memory card and use that. Itll have less space, but its better to transfer Linux. The second thing it could be: motherboard failure. Thats not good.

my xbox isnt reading discs, it keeps saying its dirty or damaged!
haha yes, the biggest problem i ever had with my xbox. even after i killed it, then revived it with a SmartXX chip, it still keeps happening. Your motherboard is failing. It may not die, but its not working right. When this happened to mine it killed the hard drive and needed to replace it. Your best bet is to do what i do. Hit the green circle on top of the xbox. Sound stupid? Try it. do NOT hit it too hard. i am not responsible for what may happen!

i cant load the maps!
if its a modded map, try and fix the encryption. If you already did, try it again. If its a regular Halo map unmodded, shut off the box. Wait about 5 seconds, hit the green circle NOT TOO HARD, and cold boot. This happened to me a lot, just dont hit the circle too hard!

My box still wont load maps even after i hit it!
try hitting it again, trust me, itll work. It takes a couple of boots, but i mean hey, better than nothing. If it still doesnt work, check some websites for help and see if you can find out whats wrong and if something needs to be fixed or replaced.

NOTE: DO NOT HIT YOUR XBOX WITH A LOT OF FORCE! IT CAUSED MINE TO SHORT OUT THE HARDRIVE AND KILLED THE MOTHERBOARD! however if hit with just enough force, it will work. i am NOT responsible for anything!
