Custom Xbox 360 Controllers

Post by DrXThirst »

I decided to do an extremely simple controller mod today, and I think the result turned out pretty nice. I took the thumbsticks from the Xbox Original, and stuck them on the Xbox 360 controller, and I took the back plate off and spray painted it black. Sorry for the bad-quality pictures

The ones I was sporting on my COD controller borked: one finally wore the soft rubber coating away to the hard plastic, and the other is so smooth my finger slips off it: sigh. I like this controller btw, but i bet it scratches a lot ;p

You should carve out your XBAY buttons.

You have overly agressive thumbs. Then again I get a new controller like every 3 months.

Same happened to me. It really shows how much testing ms put into the 360 vs the original xbox.

What are you people doing to your controllers to wear off the rubber?
I have had mine since 05' and it still has the tiny pegs that I would think would wear off first.

And put a clear coat over the black, it makes it even shinier and protects it from scratches.

Make a duke 360 controller. Ben Heck made one a long time ago. Sweetest thing I've ever seen. And I need one with my giant hands. I still have 2 original dukes for xbox.

I'm guessing sweat, oils, other typical things you would find on someone's hands would accelerate the deterioration. Wouldn't be the same for any two people.

You should also spraypaint the D-pad. It doesn't seem right with the black thumbsticks.

True. I'll probably do that when I make the video tutorial, and spray paint the clear coat onto my controller.

You can swap the D pad with the original xbox one.

Also, I'm going to paint the RB, and LB bumpers black, along with the start and select buttons.
