swordedit Preview

Post by `sword »

Hey again everyone! Some of you will probably remember me, others of you may know me, and still some of you may not know who the hell I am.

Regardless of that, I bring you good news! The program that I had said I was working on a few months shy of a year ago, swordedit, has gotten so close to beta level that I feel its time to give all of you a preview. The program has been almost entirely rewritten over the last three weeks, sporting a new backend that has allowed me to add the many great features that I know you all want in swordedit.

Rather than giving you a lengthy explanation of all the features, or even an explanation of what swordedit is, I'm just going to go right ahead and post some screenshots of the little piece of God that I poured all my blood, sweat, and tears into over these past weeks. A picture is worth a thousand words, is it not?

If it's released in time, it'll be a lot easier to put trees into my mod.

I believe its for Halo Mac modders.

Have you tried adding lightmap support to it?

Lightmaps are on my to-do list, but low down at the moment. First I am working on my scenario rebuilding code so that any changes at all can be made to the scenario while retaining it's functionality. I've run into a problem or two, but those wont take much longer than today or tomorrow to solve.

Once I get the core feature list done I'll move onto things like better rendering, bsp-intersection tracing for better placement, and all of that fun stuff.

Wow! Nice job Sword! I might get back into modding once you release this. Highly doubt it though :(

man sword this is some exciting stuff you are getting into , I remember when you were working on sparkedit :0 wow you and the original creator of the original mac sparkedit code have done something amazing for the mac modding community you are not just making something for your experience or for anyones enjoyment you are proving to all the PC modding software makers that the mac modding community is just as capable of making the same stuff as they do.

well sorta, it is a better version of Sparkedit. Sparkedit was made by Bobindashadows, and this application, Swordedit was created by sword.
