Alright here's my run down with scenery:
Like things go together: This is a desert-like map with jungle-like scenery.
Furthermore: Like atmospheres go together : This is a desert map with mist. Generally speaking sandstorms go with desert-like areas, and mist goes with more tropical areas.
So in other words either stick to one thing or another. I hope you get what i'm saying, i mean it's like going from Spring to fall, it just doesn't happen. There's in-between areas. There's a gradual change; what is going on here isn't.
I'd also add something interesting to capture the interest of the player. I don't really like fighting people in boring terrain. I'm not talking about good graphics, I'm talking about interesting twists to gameplay.
