My Hi Res Skinning work CE/PC [56k, just dont]

Well, not alot of you know me here, I'm quite new to here and skinning, though, I've picked it up quite quickly :P and have joined CMT as a skinner. I'm going to show you just some things that will be in the upcoming CMT maps, plus extra stuff I've done, pretty much, to suck ya'll in cuz CE needs more players >:[=_]

Hi resolution Halo V Mjolnir Armour, reskinned on bungies UVW, at 2048

You can't show off a high res texture in a non-high-res image :( That would be like trying to show you a HD sample on a SDTV :?

Also, if you scale it down to 512x512, it's not High-Res! It's standard, Bungie probably start out with a very large canvas, and then scale it down... so the "high-res" textures you're showing, aren't really high-res.


At least I think...

But they are looking good, the HaloWars Spartan looks too fat though, and try giving him the correct colour armour.

Good job thus far though. =)

Well I would have shown a large image, but I find its hard to gather in everything your looking at, at once. Im merely just showing the textures, at what they look like low res in PC, while accompanying them with the comparison of the HI res textures, in CE. Wich, believe me, if you seen the actual skins, you'd know how hi res they are :P
The hi res textures ARE hi res, I just merely showed a low res and a hi res to compare :) Tho, none of these pics do these thigns justice. You need to see them ingame, because of the shaders and the movement of light.

What do you mean, about giving the halowars the correct colour armour? It's CTF, hes on the red team, so hes red :/ And yes he is a little fat, but I have no control over that. I aint a modeller :(

I'm not saying you haven't made good high-res skins, it's just... running them ingame at 640x48o won't do them any justice, as you said... so run them at a much higher resolution, so we can see the details you've put in :)

? Lol, they are running in hi resolution right now in CE, I just showed pics, as I said of the textures in low res to compare. That, and im thinking of releasing them for PC, lower res, but they are still quite good looking, if you note the first pic I showed. I dont think hi res textures would work well, if at all in halo map tools. Besides, I'm keeping them soley exlusive for friends and well established map makers to have in their maps. I just showed them here to grab attention to the CMT mod pretty much :P The MAIN purpose the textures are hi res, is for the shift to H2V, where they will also be bump mapped :D

Nice. I loved the CMT mods also lol. But yeah I love the skins keep it up.

Yeah, I also think the biped is too fat, and I also the think the helmet needs alot of work, but I feel, if the body was toned down fat wise, and the head was made better hte biped would look good. At the moment I find he looks like an ugly bulldog xD

But I had fun skinning him, even though it was incredibly frustrating

I'm also skinning about 6 different thigns at the moment, when I finish them, Ill show them to ya'll. There for vaious future maps and mods

With all that texture space, and the amount of resources it takes to render 4 times as many pixels in a texture, you're really wasting what you could be making much much much better use of.

the halo 3 assault rifle, reticle is smaller than that one, because of the better acuracy.

I know Veegie, we've scaled down the stuff to 1024, because halo doesn't show off the 2048's any better than 1024's on bipeds and weapons. Partly, cuz of the lack of bumps and the mip mapping system. None of them have detail maps either. Trust me, I put as much detail I could put into the skins, If I put more, it would seem a bit too textured, worn and basically just look like sandpaper to most people. If you'd like, I can give you my textures for rendering purposes, as I'm sure you could put them to good use :)

And Caboose, that Reticle is much smaller then the normal AR one, the CMT AR is much more accurate, and, from what I could see it looks pretty close to the halo 3 one, but Feh, doesn''t matter a great deal if it's not the same size at the moment, considering we allready have the battel rifle, and the pistol. We don't need another extremely accurate weapon.

Although i did Kill [Kod]Venom like 200 metres away with it >_>

That new HUD is beyond cool, and that new AR skin is looks really good.

the picture that has "102.4m" on it for the distance from the location that AR is sexy and so is the HUD, on that pic(I noticed that u have 2 differant HUD pics up there)

send me a message on aim and ill re-render that halowars spartan. i updated the lighting and stuff in it. but you gotta fix the visor, i did my best but im not a skinner and it didnt turn out very well.
