[WIP Mod Preview] Synapse *RELEASED*

The Story: (Please Read!)

After the Flood was unleashed on High Charity, many Covenant flagships took off to continue the onslaught of Earth, and to escape the infection. One of these flagships was damaged from a previous battle, and was not fully repaired before take-off, allowing a small group of flood infection and combat forms to board the ship.

After coming out of the slipspace rupture, the crew was overtaken by the flood on board, and the ship was crash-landed just outside New Mombassa. The infection spread throughout the surrounding towns.

The military sent out it's finest soldiers, equipped with armor to protect them from the infection. Along with the finest weapons they had to offer. They must protect the people of Mombassa from the flood.

Mod Information:
[ YES ] System Linkable
[ YES ] Weapon Mods (Balanced Weapons, for fair games)
[ NO! ] Skin Mods (There are new fog effects and Skymap)
[ NO! ] Physics Mods
[ YES ] Lighting Mods
[ YES ] Vehicle Mods

Changes:
Bipeds:
-MC swapped for ODST
-Elite Swapped for Flood Human Form
-BOTH PLAYER TYPES HAVE AIM ASSIST ON EACH OTHER
-Flood has cool First Person Arms

Weapons: (All human, since there are no covenant on the map)
- Plasma Rifle swapped for Elite SMG (More Accurate, 2x zoom)
- Plasma Pistol Swapped for Semi-Auto BR (Slightly Higher Power than Normal BR, 20 round clip, 5x scope)
- Battle Rifle is Fully Automatic 10 Rounds Per Second, 60 Round clip, Scope Nulled.
- Brute Shot swapped for Rocket Launcher (1 round clip, no more rocket whoring)
- Brute Plasma swapped for Elite Shotgun (10 round clip, Faster RoF, More Powerful. 'The Flood Killer')

Vehicles:
-Warthog modified to work fully with ODST and Flood

Scenery:
- Backwash Fog added to map, giving it a more flood-like haunting effect.
- Lightmap made with a light green tint to match Fog, Darkened a bit.
- Backwash Sky added.


FUTURE RELEASES:
This is my first publicly released Mod.

I'm thinking about going back in and adding some flood scenery to the map sometime. If anyone wants to help to make this mod more interesting to look at, I'd certainly love some help.

The only thing I have to do to make this mod ready for release is make it SLC. Then I'll put it up.

Looks cool!

And, if all you need to do is fix system link..click the "Fix System-Link" button in Entity 1.2.0 or higher ;).

I did that... but for some odd reason it didn't work.

I system linked my Xbox 360 to my Xbox, and tried to play it, but the 360 just stayed at "setting up game" So... I'm gonna just re-inject everything into a New Turf with the Goof Patch applied to it.

I made a mod exactly like this a few weeks ago, except I skinned mine and left the weapons as they were. This is looking pretty good so far. Other than the scenery what else do you plan to do to it?

I'm not quite sure. I don't really want to do much else to it. I mean, I want to keep the gameplay balanced and fun. So, you know I don't want to modify much else besides the scenery and things like that.

Looks awesome Catalyst! Reminds me of Resident Evil 2, zombies and Special Forces fighting in an urban backdrop. Unfortunately I don't have X-Box to play it on. :P

Great job on the Flood FP hands, but are you going to change the origin and the animations? The Flood hold the gun with their right hand and whack with their left. Unless of course you change it in Third Person to match the present FP hands... or if you just don't want to! :wink:

You mean change the animations so that instead of melee-ing like normal, you see his claw come out and hit them?

There is no third person animation applied to the Flood Human right now for that. So, there's no real need to. I'll be releasing this in the downloads section momentarily. I have to test the final version real quick.

Thanks. I recommend visiting the Download page. It has a bit more info on some last minute changes. As well as a serenity patch. ;)
