Well ive decided to show you guys what ive been working on recently just incase you dont ever go to our halogama website...(although these pics are newer and better mind you)

so here we are!

The flood has reached earth and youve been assigned to get rid of it before its too late...
Until when you get there you realise the situation has become alot worse

note the M-16 :P
Image

Flood generators are taking over...and the pic also features a Desert Eagle courtesy of the almighty pyroman31
Image

Added strategy in the level...your gonna have to make sure the coast is clear before getting the sword...or you can stop others altogether
Image

I present: the hall of lights...Biohazard features beautiful lighting
Image

Finally a needler worth using...and one to actually stop and look at
Image

The plasma rifle...Powerful when used properlly
Image

Will the flood take over? or can you stop them?
Image

The beautiful skin was done by greennc...expect this mod soon :P i just gotta fix some holes...any help would be appreciated in the matter
oh and make it system link but now that shade45 did his orsm stuff it shouldnt be too long...
hopefully

enjoy the pics ;)

Looks good, I've enjoyed your work so far ScottyGee.

In the second to last picture, it looks like you nulled the shader for the glass on the Overshield ramp on Ivory tower. Is this just the picture, or intentional? If it's intentional, I think it owuld be a little silly without altering the collision also...

That is fucking awesome. Great work there ScottyGEE. And yes it does look like a kickass ut2k4 map. I think this map is hax.

Do all those realtime lights hurt the FPS?

Posted: Mon Jan 30, 2006 9:56 pm
by ScottyGEE
hmm well no...ive tested each spot...it did at first because if the lighting is on a second storey it goes on the level underneath too creating bad lag for a person underneath for some reason...

so no it doesnt...ive tested this in splitscreen single and split screen 2 people...i cant guarentee much for 4 player yet...but doesnt lighting disable then?

anyways im not releasing this mod if it has noticable lag...its ok to have something that will make the animation look a fraction more chunky and the game stays smooth but not so if your going to run slower...

you should see the flamethrower...its huge and lag free! but maybe too huge

Hmm... alright then.

I don't think the dome lights lose their realtime lighting and shadows inmultiplayer. I recall Zanzibar on Live with 8 people having working dome lights inside the base, and everyone underneath them casting real time shadows.

Maybe you could try using the hanging dome lights on turf which use a more fake real time lighting - it lights up the object underneath it (say a Warthog) with the right pattern, moves when hit, but it does not cast shadows and the full light pattern shows up on the ground even if the Warthoh would be making a shadow. These would still look good without hurting the FPS as much, I think.
