An average person playing this would have 1 fps.
Uhm, how do you know the poly count?
Yes, it's inefficient right now. But he isn't done modeling it yet. You NEVER poly-chop until you're done. That's ridiculous.
And Halo 1's rendering engine is much more powerful than you all believe it to be.
The Halo 1 Masterchief is roughly 3,000 polygons. A few hundred more, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here(You'll need it)
A warthog is around 2,000.
A portaled section of Blood Gulch is around 9,000
A weapon model is around 500
A power up is around 90.
So let's see your average Blood Gulch scene.
16 Masterchief models(including dead bodies)
2 Warthogs
Around 13 weapons(some scattered)
5 power ups
And the portaled section of Blood Gulch.
That is at LEAST 63,950 Polygonal surfaces being rendered ALL the time. Unless you're staring at the ground. Though even then, .gbxmodels aren't portaled off. You're only excluding the BSP from being rendered. And on top of all THAT, you have shaders, shadows, lightmaps etc. being rendered as well.
And you think some keyblades are going to make your game run at 1fps? I think not.
