I use to hate needlers
But, after playing maps like Greenhouse & the Biohazard series, ScottyGee & HSM have shown me that the Needler can be fun. :D

Looks tight, but why is the projectile spawning above the 'muzzle'?

Because it always does, even before modding, in order to make it shoot where you are looking, and not below.

Stand next to someone and watch them shoot. You will definitely notice.

That's quite a bad glitch, I wonder why they never bothered fixing it.

It's not a glitch they did it on purpose like Tural said.

Well no, it is a glitch... or at least it's something wrong. I'm sure Bungie didn't say, "yeah, when you make that weapon, make sure the projectile spawns above the muzzle area"

Tural explained the reason it is the way it is, which means they made shortcuts, and left something wrong in the game.

It's not a glitch, it's something they just didn't do. They were most likely aware of it, but didn't take the extra time to go out of their way to change the third person projectile spawn location, and just kept it how it was in first person. It's barely noticeable in standard gameplay anyways, it's an insignificant thing to even be discussing.

It would be a major waste of time to rebuild every one of the maps to create different values for first person and third person spawn locations.

Yeah, HSM and I essentially concluded that the needler was easily one of the most customisable and creative weapons to mod...You can do anything with it and still get away with it... :P

<3 needlers

As for the weapon spawning, you can change it and for the majority of the time, it would work... But when you are in close quarters and fighting the projectile will spawn lower as it doesnt have the distance like in a normal shot to correct its positioning... One may end up shooting someone in the neck or chest compared to the head if they were right in your face.

Yeah it's Image Ready and there is already a tutorial for it in the Tutorial or Graphics section, I think. It's sticked as well.
