I Disagree look at the Sketchup homepage.It has is own page dedicated to guess what.... Game Development! I'll even quote it for you.

SketchUp and Game Development:

SketchUp is fast becoming the tool of choice for level design, where exporting data to FBX and OBJ formats for downstream visualization and modeling are important.

For Maya users, OBJ is as important to most folks as 3DS for general data transfer so we've given our OBJ Export full "first-class-citizenship" by integrating it into SketchUp in our most recent release.

With our FBX Export (Filmbox), you can easily get your SketchUp models into the graphics pipeline for previz and special effects planning work, working easily with Alias' Motionbuilder and other applications.
Sorry, but I have been to @Last(The people who made SketchUp) SketchUp training and I can tell you that this program is not limited to Architecture.
