looks great except for the mountains.... it looks like you gave a kid a black crayon and let him run loose hahahaha

The grass is very off, please change it. The grass I'm talking about is the foliage, not the ground texture. The bottom of it is kind of white and to be honest, it looks like crap.
Otherwise, the mod is pretty cool when you're not looking at the obvious things that are going to be changed in the future.

Is this truly cell shaded, or is it nulled out bumps with a new skin? sorry to be negative, but I'm just curious. I really do like the looks of it, however.
Also, if it indeed is nulled shaders, care to explain your technique of editing them? Are you able to inject your bumps in the p8 format? PM me if you would... I'd appreciate it. I'll let you know whatever it is that I know also as I've spent a lot of time researching the p8 format and the such.

It would be great if somone would release a tut on injecting bump maps.
I had a dream of doing this a while back when I saw Chad's bump map changes.
I would love to do a map pack similar to that halo pc or ce mod that was released for halo2 much like this.
PM me if you wouldn't mind me helping pigfarker(that is if you want to do an mp map pack)

If you mean the little bitmaps that stick out from the ground, thats actualy supposed to be nulled later on >.<. They arent even skinned. Since when you null the things themselves through the SNCR, ill probably just null out the shader so it would be invisible.Kirk wrote:The grass is very off, please change it. Agreed. This seems to be one of those things that's still kept kind of secret among those who know how to do it. Some of my vehicle mods could definately use custom bumps and I've got an idea for another one that I'll be trying soon, that I guarantee EVERYBODY will love... and it could seriously use some custom bump-mapping.

Here's the deal with bumps: I'm looking hard at getting bumps done right. As of yet, we can't truly do any bump editing as we can't inject them properly. What we have and do is a sloppy/cheap immitation, nothing more. I'm not releasing a tutorial on it because if I do, we'll have tons of sloppily done mods/skins out there that I wouldn't want to play unless I was looking for a good headache. Please be patient: if we get it, you'll all know how shortly after.
