Well excuse me for not knowing. To me this is a big deal. There are so many discrepencies between the Xbox Halo and computer Halo, (the assault rifle and the field of view, not to mention lackluster visuals compared to the xbox version, even with a high end card), and also the PC halo and the Mac halo, (notably, dull mgs2 effects and the absence of several pieces of the fuel rod gun), that, sometimes, I get rather irritated that so little time was spent attempting to make Halo for the computer live up to the xbox version, and, even more irritated that MacSoft was the bigger of the two evils.

you mean the shader?Veegie wrote: It's just the Sidewinder teleporters.
excuse me for sounding noobish, what's a rasterizer?Veegie wrote: One rasterizer.
does it lack a multipurpose? I want to fix it myselfVeegie wrote:Teleporter shader.
between the pc and mac versions?Veegie wrote:Flamethrower and Fuel Rod Gun placements.
That's a given. That's one thing between the xbox version and the computer version that I like. I'm talking about graphical discrepencies only.Veegie wrote:And the addition of the Banshee and Rocket Warthog.
Oh, and what difference does the color of the multipurpose make?

thanks. This'll help with the vehicle skins!
EDIT: damn. multipurpose injecting on the ghost doesn't work. even if i reinject the original it gets extremely corrupted. It might work if i had a working dds plugin for the mac.
EDIT: injected the multi bitmap into an unused bitmap (gravity rifle) and swapped it for the ghost multi. It's not corrupted but it doesn't change anything, even with green in the areas I want it.

You probably thought of this, but are you sure you're using exact green? Maybe that makes a difference. In Photoshop's color pallette, go to Hex in the bottom and put in 00ff00 to get exact green.Explosive American wrote:even with green in the areas I want it.

I just used a general blue for the assault rifle multi I made. That worked fine.
EDIT: I tested all the colors mentioned that might make a change in the blue's visibility in the dark. Green does nothing but "erase" the normal shader in areas where it is applied to the multipurpose. Red does nothing.

I'd like to ask a collective question about the plasma shaders in the computer versions of Halo. I've seen them fixed on the teleporters in the New Mombasa Classic (Halo CE version), which was ported to the Mac by Bobindashadows a while ago, and to the PC by someone else whose name i'm blanking on. Anyway, there does seem to be a way to fix it, so I'm asking if anyone has done it before, and can tell me how it was done. I have a hunch that there's some corrupted or left out tag in the code that would enable the shaders, resulting in a difference much like looking at the Chief's or an Elite's energy shields with shaders, and looking at them without. Again, if anyone has any leads or hints that could help, please post them here.
Veegie, you are welcome to contribute, but I'm not looking forward to it, as your actions over AIM have completely shattered my confidence in the ability of your morally bankrupt mind to help a single soul with a simple question.
That is all.

And the teleporter itself.Explosive American wrote:you mean the shader?Veegie wrote: It's just the Sidewinder teleporters.
Didn't plan on it. And if you're not looking forward to it, why did you give me an open, public invitation? You caught me at a bad time, but it would have ended up with me blocking you anyways. I'm not a personal support individual. I'm busy with my current project right now, as many of the people I keep in daily-contact know. It takes up all of my free-time. And has over 150 hours of work on it total in the past 3 weeks.Veegie, you are welcome to contribute, but I'm not looking forward to it, as your actions over AIM have completely shattered my confidence in the ability of your morally bankrupt mind to help a single soul with a simple question.

In case you didn't understand that sentence, it means you are welcome to, but i don't care if you do.
And that didn't mean you had to go throwing insults left and right. Just in case you didn't happen to know. Cheers.
If you didn't want to be contacted, why not say so? Why not just remove your screen name from your profile? I just thought you might have some valuable information. I was wrong.

Then why even offer the invitation. It's been rejected several times, on several mediums.Explosive American wrote:In case you didn't understand that sentence, it means you are welcome to, but i don't care if you do.
I called you a dumbshit on AIM...once. Oh no! Because you were too lazy to search and I was/am busy. And that didn't mean you had to go throwing insults left and right. Just in case you didn't happen to know. Cheers.
Only people on my list can contact me due to constant crash-attempts.If you didn't want to be contacted, why not say so? Why not just remove your screen name from your profile?
Wasn't aware you could view my entire minds cache.I just thought you might have some valuable information. I was wrong.

Now that I don't understand at all. Why would you think that I thought you owed me something? I certainly don't think you owe me anything, nor ever did.
I just think you should tell me if you're busy, don't take questions, or if there's just some other reason you don't want to answer a question, instead of insulting me outright.
On a separate note, you need no longer worry about me "bothering" you for two reasons.
1. I can see you don't answer questions
2. I've been blocked already anyway.
Not to mention warned, which was completely unnecessary.
EDIT: update - new feature, needs a new name.
new feature:
