Re: please could you assist me?
The stock where you hold the gun is WAY too small. You need really small leprechaun hands to actually hold it well. Also what is the red tube for? It wouldn't make sense if it was a sight. A laser would make sense (which it undoubtedly is). Also put more angles of the weapon. AND I think you should make the sight longer on the viewers side because when you try and snipe you usually put your eye closer to the sight otherwise it gets awkward. Just some ideas for improvement. Otherwise its very nice...wait... is the grip NEXT TO THE AMMO? well... thats.. ermmm... bad design. Im sure a man with an armored hand wont feel the heat but a normal man will get burned if he puts his hands too close to the clip.

well it sure doesn't look like that. do you not realize that weapons have MANY variations in thickness at any given spot?
i can't tell you enough times. GET SOME REFERENCES! without them, you will continue to make box guns. please get references before attempting ANY more modeling. it's just not a good idea to model without them.
i told you to look at katarn's stickied topic "3ds Max: Gun Modeling for Dummies". if you would have, you would have seen this:
Modeling Tuts (ugly ones for extreme beginners):

http://www.fh-worms.de/~inf126/tutorial ... index.html
seriously look at those. you will see that they use many references.

nonsense.
the explosion is contained within the barrel- little heat is transferreed to the magazine. if that were the case, then you would burn your hand on the pistol grip as heat would be transferred to it, and indeed - the rest of the weapon

I am not sure about automatic weapons, as I have never fired one, so ill give you the benefit of the doubt. RIFLES and shotguns, on the other hand get VERY hot where the combustion occurs. If you touch the top of just a .22 rifle it gets a tadbit uncomfortable. And the higher the spray rate and the gunpowder levels the hotter it gets. Now; about pistols. The reason the grip doesnt get hard is because there is protection on it. Furthermore if you ever touched a revolver's "rotor" thingy you would probably notice that that also gets a bit warm. A Romantic Grunts clip doesnt look like it takes AANY precaution against heating. He could just make a slot that rises about an inch from the grip that houses the clip but... well... He DID say that its master chief... and yet all the weapons used by MC were used by the marines... hopefully they have military issue oven mitts.Infidelchimp wrote: nonsense.

Edit: And I agree withthe guy who posted above me. The rifles used to have stocks that you would grip almost horizontally. But they were long stocks if that was the case. Even most shotguns have a pinky stopper about 4 or 5 inces away from the trigger to act as something that lets people feel some kind of support.

yea, they get hot where the combustion OCCURS - not on the magazine, dont you think Weapon manufacturers would take this into consideration when designing a weapon? i.e. not placing it where you could easily burn your forearm on it - you clearly have no concept of the physics and inner workings of a weapon, dont argue with me - youll get 'burned'.[SW]Phanom777 wrote:

also - HK weapons such as the UMP and the G36, they are made of a type of plastic - dont you think that would melt if the heat wasnt contained within the breech?
