Image

Features

- Edit Any Halo 3 Map.
- Tag Extraction/Injection.
- Meta Editor.
- Support for Anthony's .CS Plugin System.
- Auto Updating System.

Latest Updates

- Fixed a bunch of small errors that have plagued Engineer for awhile.

Image

Please Note:

This application is intended to further aid in Halo 3 modding research. As of this point in time there are no means for the general public to play modded map files!

Most updates will now be delivered through Engineers auto update feature. So if you want to stay up to date turn on automatic updates in the settings menu!

Any bugs can be reported to me here or through pm I will try and fix them A.S.A.P

Q and A:

Q: Engineer crashes as soon as I open it. What do I do?
A: Download and install the latest version of the .net framework.

Thanks:

- Anthony: Would of never gotten so much accomplished without him :D .
- Everyone contributing to Halo3 research and all who helped me test this app

I haven't quite gotten to Halo3 modding yet but this looks fantastic. Although I don't have the proper equipment to mod Halo3 yet, i've been watching your progress and it looks great!

Is it just me or do like some plugins that are there don't load. Like the ugh!. And on every plugin with ID's it gives compile time errors for the ID's.

Its the plugins I forgot to include the new ones I wrote that work with the updated plugin syntax.

If you use these plugins here you shouldnt have a problem anymore.

Pros..
  • Looks good..
Cons..
  • The 'About' needs updating: I thought this was V1?.. Also was just wondering how only Anthony got included in the 'Credits' section.. What about those who contributed to the research currently used with-in the application.. surely they all get a mention...
  • The Plug-in's are buggy.. but you've explained why, so hopefully the fix will be part of a future update then..
  • The blue-white gradient background of the meta editor flickers when scrolling.. which is actually quite annoying...
  • The BubbleBar wasn't used as efficiently as it could have been, as I find the text consistently difficult to read because of it over-lapping other text/gradients..
  • You are somehow displaying tag identifiers as longs, when they are shorts..
  • 'Error Loading Map Preview' pops up all the time when trying to open a map after having opened one map, ever, in the application..
  • 'Recent files' only displays the recent files once the application has been closed and re-opened.. Make's it redundant if you haven't closed the application in a while, but have done so to contained MDI children...
Overall.. Perhaps a little more love should have been considered!...

I got an error while updating.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.

To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].
If you could tell me where it downloads to I'm fine with updating manually.

Yea, but if you go to the source they're in the ForgePC\ForgePC\bin\Debug directory.

Engineer 1.001 Update

Ok well it seems there was a few bugs when we launched the first 1.0 version, so of course here are some fixes and additions...

Added:
- Decompressing file progress
- Clean updated files
- New plugin versions

Fixed:
- About menu
- Preview image error

So again nothing major but this should allow us to deliver any bug fixes more often in the future
