There are no video files stored on the hard drive. The clips and films are collections of data which can not be played on your computer in any way. The only way to acquire a video from the clip is to record it with a capture device. This will not retrieve film files, you will need to use Xplorer360 or wxHdd to get them.
Tural, would it ever be possible to make a program that runs a simplified version of Halo 3 on your computer and films the data for you? Like a real-time Halo for filmclips, I guess.

I highly highly doubt it, without the use of Halo3's source...maybe if you had the xexdk...
I can not imagine that ever being possible. Maybe if it was done with H3 PC, maybe. But even that, that's a huge stretch. It's just too impractical to process all of that data without knowing how the game uses it. You would need the H3 source to do it. It's just not really feasible.
You can only put them back if they are still in their original container file.
You can not edit them and then resign the container, as you don't have a resigner.
Thus, you can only transfer screenshots back on to your console if they are completely unmodified.

or is there only a WHOLE resigner that wont be released...
i really would be impressed if there was a screenshot resigner open to the public...
alright thans tural
No, it would be in the same boat as resigning gamesaves and such.
There is no point for a screenshot resigner as it would just be used for inappropriate use as one of the bungie guys said they don't wanna see real humpday images in with the humday challanges Halo 3 has its own screenshot function and that should be the only way to get screenshots.

Agreed. The screenshot feature on Halo 3 is definitely good enough.

Thats now like the ... 4th time I ask that, hope now someone can help me.

Not as you described it, but yes.

i think i may have found a bug/problem anthony. i have two xbox live profiles on my 360, and i have all my screeshots on one. when i dump the screenshots, i see the program load them, but then it dumps the other profiles screenshots and i dont get a chance to get the ones i wanted :/. i tried deleting all the screenshots on the second profile but then it makes an empty window.
