Are those the same ten people with any hex editor and more than 6 brain cells? As shade said, it is incredibly easy to take things out of and put them into containers, and it always has been. That has never been an issue preventing modding, at all.

...yea, but the container would need to be resigned/rehashed etc though wouldn't it?

It always needs to be rehashed and resigned. This is for the people who can get that done.

Just read the tutorial and extracting and reverse the process :P

All you need to do is find the offset of the usermap in the CON file and paste it over.
Thats what I usually do, I thought since you had to extract the sandbox.map youd have to reinject it. I see its just to help you find the value and what to paste

I'm surprised that nobody has released an injector if it is this simple... But doing it in hex is enough for me.

It's not as simple if the file is larger than 696320 bytes, as the data starts to shift after that threshold.

Oh, I see. But Forge maps aren't that big.

You should of add an option to edit the budget of the variant.

In theory, couldn't you just reduce the cost of objects to a low amount and achieve the same effect?

Yes, but Having a option to edit the budget would be alot quicker.

Tural I think has the better plan seeing that if you edit the usermap in forge the modded objects wont spawn anymore.

Tru.dat
Modding the budget would only matter if you were planning to just mod that, then place everything normally in Forge; I imagine this is about 0.1% of the people looking to mod Forge variants.
Also, if you resaved it, I'm not sure if it would save the modded budget anyways, meaning it would be completely useless to modify that value.

In my experience changing the costs / budget stuff has absolutely no effect when you load the map in forge. Don't ask me why, but that's what happens.

No, he's saying that regardless of what you make the budget, that change doesn't appear in-game.
